A Unique Approach to Riding and Training Your Horse
The relationship between horse and rider is unlike any other partnership. Riders sometimes forget that, when we mount up and step into the saddle, the 1,200-pound animal beneath is submitting to another being nearly one tenth their size. We ask them to move out, slow down, turn, bend, jump, collect -- the requests are endless!
What makes a horse listen to its rider? Nothing! Nothing makes a horse do anything. Riders who try to make their horses respond find their horses defensive, tense, and sour. Horses respond to humans because they are patiently and properly trained.
Dana Alley is a uniquely talented trainer and riding instructor. She can work with you and your horse to create a true working partnership.
What sets Dana apart from her contemporaries? Dana will meet you where you are -- in both the physical and theoretical sense. She will come to your property and work with you and your horses from a base of knowledge about you -- your skills, your goals, and your horses.
Dana can work to train you and your horse for general pleasure or competition in the following disciplines:
- Hunt Seat
- Introductory Jumping
- Introductory Dressage
- Western Riding
- General Riding/Trail
Whether you are gearing up for a competitive season, have just purchased a new horse, or simply want to be more comfortable (and safer) with your horses at home, Dana will design a riding and training program to suit your needs.
